I am a HUGE fan of songs that not only worship, but also can speak to the heart and get ahold of a heart issue! The song "How Deep the Father's Love For Us" has been one of my favorites (I know I have MANY) of them...but with Valentines Day rolling around the corner I think it is important to remember what love is the purest of all...that is God's love for us! Enjoy the lyrics and I will see what I can do to get the music to auto play so you can hear it! LOVE.THIS.SONG!
How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory
Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocing voice,
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that helf Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I knoww that it is finished
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast inJesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
(REPEAT)
If you would be interested in a CD with this song on it the Steve Pettie Evangelistic Team has a great one called "Jesus, My Lord, My God, My All" and you can get it here!
